Welcome Letter
Thank you for your interest in working with Global Midwife Response. Global Midwife Response, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that responds to global communities in crisis and disaster situations with skilled, compassionate midwifery care. We partner with organizations and communities to help them identify and connect with support, resources, and education.
We prepare midwives from all backgrounds, including Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNM), Certified Professional Midwives (CPM), and Registered Midwives (RM), helping develop their skills to serve women and families in low-resource and disaster areas. We also prepare midwives to educate and support local health workers, whether traditional midwives, first responders, or others, to expand their skill sets in women’s health and foster sustainable communities.

The requirements for participation in our active Registry of Midwives include:
- Active Midwifery License (retired or unlicensed midwives please contact us to discuss eligibility)
- CPR and NRP Certification
- Current passport
- Up-to-date immunizations or medical waivers - All volunteers must show they have received all CDC recommended vaccines including routine vaccines (see http://bit.ly/2jZznhv ) . Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is also required.
- Certificate of Completion of the Minimum Initial Service Package for Reproductive Health (MISP). Information can be found at: https://iawg.net/resources/minimum-initial-service-package-distance-learning-module

- Completion of UNFPA Managing Gender Based Violence Programmes in Emergencies. Information can be found at:
- Completion of John Hopkins Ethical Considerations in Short Term Global Health Training. Information can be found at: http://ethicsandglobalhealth.org/ Or other proof of cultural awareness coursework or training.
- Signed Volunteer Declaration, Media Release and Photography Policy
- 3 professional letters of reference with contact information, including name, relationship, email address, and phone number. Please letters only - we will not be contacting your references unless further information is needed.
