GLOBAL MIDWIFE RESPONSE : CARE IN CRISIS

Skilled reproductive and primary health care in crisis and disasters situations around the world
Essential emergency services for women, infants, and families
Building knowledge in women's healthcare for a strong community

"Women and infants are among the most vulnerable in times of war and persecution. We see them arrive sick, pregnant, in labor or with babes in arms; with untreated medical conditions, hungry, and traumatized – urgently in need of skilled, compassionate healthcare."

Global Midwife Response is a US-based NGO dedicated to serving communities in crisis and disaster situations with skilled, compassionate midwifery care.

With a roster of skilled midwives and other healthcare providers who are willing to serve in times of need, we can begin to establish the foundations for sustainable, healthy communities.

  • Establish safe feeding initiatives to support breastfeeding mothers and infants as well as assist with feeding protocols and support for non breastfeeding dyads.
HEALTH TRAINING
  • Support local health workers and relief workers with training on reducing maternal and infant mortality, supporting survivors of sexual violence, and addressing reproductive health needs.
  • Disaster preparation and training for health care providers.
  • Education of global midwives and providers to prepare for the issues that are faced in low resource area and disaster afflicted communities.
