Will gloves prevent me from getting COVID-19?

Unless you are a healthcare worker the answer is NO.

Wearing gloves may put yourself and others at higher risk and does not replace the need for hand hygiene.

The only times gloves should be worn by non healthcare professionals to prevent COVID-19 infection is:
1. When you are cleaning
2.  When you are caring for someone who is sick

If the criteria above applies, then the following guidelines should be utilized:

When and how to wear gloves

The general public should NOT wear gloves to prevent COVID-19 infection

Why you shouldn't wear gloves
